Johannes Dale-Skjevdal won the men’s 12.5km pursuit in Ruhpolding in 30:23.9. The Norwegian entered the podium positions only after shooting clean at the final standing stage, then caught Eric Perrot and attacked on the last uphill.
Perrot finished second, 4.9 seconds behind, with three penalties. Martin Ponsiluoma moved from seventh after the final shoot to third, 7.5 seconds back, earning his first podium of the season. Fabien Claude, Tommaso Giacomel and sprint winner Sebastian Samuelsson followed.
Dale-Skjevdal’s previous victory had come in the same Ruhpolding pursuit two years earlier. He described conserving energy after catching Perrot before committing to the decisive move, and celebrated with his wife and infant son attending the competition.
