Dortmund take final Champions League play-off place despite defeat
Storhamar’s home loss settled the last qualification contest in women’s group A.

Borussia Dortmund secured the final women’s Champions League play-off berth even though they lost at Győr. Storhamar’s home defeat against Gloria Bistrita ensured Dortmund finished ahead of the Norwegian side as group A’s campaign reached its conclusion.
Győr recorded their twelfth victory in fourteen matches and finished top of the group. Metz, who had already secured direct quarter-final entry, defeated Esbjerg to confirm second place and complete the leading positions in the final standings.
Bistrita’s performance decided the qualification race elsewhere in the group. Storhamar led during much of a low-scoring opening half, but the visitors took control after the interval, with Angela Stoica helping extend their advantage before the hosts narrowed the eventual margin.
