DPR Korea defeated Bangladesh 5-0 in Sydney to earn a second consecutive Women’s Asian Cup win. China PR’s victory later in the day confirmed both East Asian teams’ passage from Group B, setting up their meeting to determine first place.

Bangladesh resisted for much of the opening half, with DPR Korea having three efforts disallowed. Myong Yu Jong finally converted a penalty in added time, and Kim Kyong Yong quickly added another to give the favourites a two-goal interval lead.

Chae Un Yong extended the margin after the restart before Kim Kyong Yong scored again. Kim Hye Yong completed the scoring with a late header, leaving Bangladesh with two defeats and DPR Korea firmly positioned for the knockout stage.
