Croatia rally past Hungary to reach a tenth European semi-final

Croatia recovered from a two-goal half-time deficit to defeat Hungary 27–25 in Malmö and qualify for the European Championship semi-finals. The victory also ended Sweden’s hopes of competing for the medals, sending the co-hosts towards the fifth-place match.
Hungary led 6–2 early and remained ahead 15–13 at the interval. Croatia improved defensively after the break, with Mario Šoštarić equalising in the forty-fourth minute and Veron Načinović subsequently putting his team in front for the first time.
Goalkeeper Dominik Kuzmanović made nine saves and received the player-of-the-match award. David Mandić’s goal with four seconds remaining settled the contest and confirmed Croatia’s tenth appearance in a European semi-final.
