Denmark and Norway finished 38–24 in Herning.
Source publication date:
Denmark defeated Norway 38–24 in Herning to finish first in European Championship main-round group I. Already assured of a semi-final place, Denmark needed another victory to remain ahead of Germany and confirm a final-four meeting with Iceland.
Norway took an early three-goal lead, but a Danish timeout changed the momentum. Improved defence and Emil Nielsen’s saves supported five unanswered goals, leaving Denmark ahead 19–16 at half-time before three more successive goals stretched the difference after the restart.
Emil Jakobsen and Mathias Gidsel scored seven each, with Gidsel receiving the match award. Ten Danish outfield players scored, and returning centre back Thomas Arnoldsen added three as Denmark rotated the squad without losing control.
