Sweden secure progression with a nine-goal win over Georgia

Sweden defeated Georgia 38–29 in Malmö to secure a European Championship main-round place with one preliminary match remaining. The result also confirmed Croatia’s progression, ending uncertainty over the two qualifying positions in group E before their head-to-head meeting.
Georgia initially led by two goals, with Giorgi Tskhovrebadze scoring eight times in the opening half. Sweden answered through Felix Claar and strengthened their defence, using a late first-half surge to establish a 20–15 advantage at the interval.
Claar and Nikola Roganović finished with six goals apiece as twelve Swedish outfield players scored. Tskhovrebadze earned the player-of-the-match award with eleven goals, showing Georgia’s threat despite the eventual margin of defeat.
