Palasics anchors Hungary’s opening victory over Poland

Hungary defeated Poland 29–21 in Kristianstad to open their European Championship group F campaign with two points. Goalkeeper Kristóf Palasics led a strong defensive performance, making thirteen saves and preventing Poland from closing the gap to fewer than three goals after an early deficit.
Hungary built a six-goal lead before Poland responded with three unanswered goals near the end of the first half. The interval score was 14–10, leaving Poland within reach but still dependent on a sustained improvement in attack.
Palasics stopped all four penalties he faced and also scored, earning the player-of-the-match award. Richárd Bodó led Hungary with five goals, while Poland’s attempts to use seven-against-six in the closing period failed to overturn the advantage.
