The Netherlands defeated Georgia 31–26 in Malmö to finish their European Championship campaign with a victory. Both teams were already out of main-round contention, but the Dutch result secured their first points while Georgia left their second tournament appearance without a win.
A five-goal unanswered run late in the opening half, supported by an aggressive 3–3 defence, gave the Netherlands an 18–15 interval lead. Goalkeeper Jorick Pol then helped extend the advantage to seven during the second half.
Ivar Stavast scored eight from nine attempts for the Netherlands, while Giorgi Tskhovrebadze contributed eleven for Georgia. Rutger ten Velde finished the campaign with twenty-four goals and became the Netherlands’ all-time European Championship scoring leader with eighty-one.
