Source publication date:
The EHF presented its Women's Handball Roadmap 2029 ahead of International Women's Day. The plan set five areas for development, building on the Her Playground visibility platform and earlier work to expand women's involvement across the sport.
Two pillars addressed female officials and coaches, including higher representation in referee pathways, delegate roles and Master Coach courses. Another focused on professional playing and working conditions, with attention to contracts, social protection, health and cooperation with national federations.
The remaining areas covered community, promotion and visibility, alongside social sustainability and governance. Secretary general Martin Hausleitner and Women's Handball Board chair Leonor Mallozzi described the roadmap as a framework requiring shared work by stakeholders to improve participation and representation through 2029.
