EHF reports major television audiences for European Championship medal matches
The final drew 12.82 million viewers on Germany’s ZDF, alongside strong Scandinavian and Croatian figures.

The EHF reported substantial television audiences for the men’s European Championship medal weekend. Germany’s ZDF recorded 12.82 million viewers and a 50.8 per cent market share for the final, the country’s strongest European handball final ratings since 2016.
Denmark’s TV 2 reported an average audience of 1.77 million, with more than two million watching the ending. In Croatia, 1.2 million viewers followed the bronze-medal match, which achieved a sixty per cent share among adults aged eighteen to fifty-nine.
Iceland’s RÚV reported record national viewership for the semi-final against Denmark, above the previous sporting benchmark set by the 2018 football World Cup match against Argentina. The federation linked the results with distribution across more than seventy territories and a substantial free-to-air broadcast presence.
