Denmark secure progression with a record European margin against Romania

Denmark defeated Romania 39–24 in Herning to secure a European Championship main-round place. The fifteen-goal margin set a new Danish record at the tournament, while the co-hosts celebrated their twenty-fifth victory at Jyske Bank Boxen in front of 14,535 spectators.

Romania remained competitive until midway through the first half, but Simon Pytlick scored seven times before the interval and Denmark led 22–17. The advantage expanded substantially after the break as Denmark maintained their attacking pressure.

Mathias Gidsel finished with nine goals, while Kevin Møller made seventeen saves and received the match award. Romania suffered their heaviest European Championship defeat, and Danish line player Lukas Jørgensen left the court with an injury requiring assessment.
