Source publication date:
Slovenia defeated the Faroe Islands 30–27 in Bærum to finish first in European Championship group D. Already qualified for the main round, Slovenia’s victory also sent Switzerland through on goal difference, leaving the Faroese eliminated despite their historic earlier win over Montenegro.
Slovenia led 16–15 at the interval, but the Faroe Islands moved in front after the restart. Domen Makuc’s attacking form and Miljan Vujović’s arrival in goal helped Slovenia recover and build a 26–22 advantage late in the match.
