Norway defeated Spain 35–34 in Herning to earn their first European Championship main-round points. Both sides had started the stage without carried points, making the narrow Norwegian victory significant for their efforts to remain in the semi-final race.

August Pedersen scored six of his eleven goals before half-time, when the teams were tied 16–16. Spain held a slight advantage during parts of the second period, but Norway converted two failed passes into counterattacking goals to move ahead 30–29.

Tobias Grøndahl scored the winning goal in the final minute. Two late video reviews preceded confirmation of the result, and Spain failed to complete a final attacking opportunity. Pedersen received the match award for his eleven-goal performance.
