Sweden and Hungary drew 32–32 in Malmö in a European Championship main-round contest that left Sweden’s progression dependent on the final fixtures. Both teams had opportunities to win, but neither converted the decisive late chance after a match of repeated changes in momentum.
Hungary led 16–14 at half-time following a strong defensive spell. Sweden recovered after the restart, with Felix Claar scoring to put the co-hosts ahead 20–19 in the thirty-eighth minute before the teams continued to exchange goals.
Claar finished with ten goals and the match award. Miklós Rosta and Bence Imre scored eight each for Hungary, while Andreas Palicka missed a final empty-net attempt after Hungary’s last attack had failed.
