Croatia’s second main-round win creates a four-way tie

Croatia defeated Switzerland 28–24 in Malmö to reach four European Championship main-round points. The result brought Croatia level with Iceland, Sweden and Slovenia in group II, while Switzerland and Hungary remained on one point each midway through the stage.
Switzerland initially led 4–1 and kept Croatia scoreless until almost the tenth minute. A Croatian timeout and Ivan Martinović’s introduction changed the rhythm, with Croatia recovering to lead 13–11 at half-time after taking command midway through the opening period.
Switzerland stayed close until the final ten minutes, but Croatia extended a 24–22 lead to secure the result. Martinović and Zvonimir Srna scored five each, while goalkeeper Dominik Kuzmanović received the match award after seven saves.
