El Hammamy and Asal win Tournament of Champions titles
The world number ones prevailed through contrasting finals at Grand Central Terminal.

Hania El Hammamy and Mostafa Asal won the Tournament of Champions titles at Grand Central Terminal in New York. El Hammamy retained the women’s crown through an eighty-one-minute, five-game victory over Olivia Weaver, while Asal defeated Paul Coll in three games.
Weaver led 9–3 in the deciding game and stood two points from a first Platinum-level title. El Hammamy responded with eight consecutive points to win 11–9 and collect her nineteenth tour trophy, becoming the fourth woman to retain this tournament’s title.
Asal secured his first Tournament of Champions crown with an 11–6, 11–1, 11–4 victory in fifty-eight minutes. The Egyptian’s twenty-sixth tour title extended a sequence in which he had not lost a game in a played match since the previous October.
