European Aquatics backs launch of free sport and nature course
The online programme gives sport professionals practical environmental training.
Source publication date:
European Aquatics invited entries for a free online course launched on 4 February to help sport organisations protect and restore nature. The federation had participated in testing the Sports for Nature programme, connecting it with its own aquatic social responsibility priorities.
The course takes approximately two hours and uses videos, exercises and practical scenarios to examine links between sport and the natural environment. Participants learn about risks and opportunities created by venues, events and operations, with a completion certificate offered after the assessment.
Sports for Nature is a joint initiative involving conservation and environmental organisations, the IOC and philanthropic support. The training provides an introductory route for sport professionals to incorporate nature protection into daily operations and longer-term planning through an accessible remote format.
