European Aquatics launches entry-level open water officials course
The online pathway will train national technical officials throughout 2026.
Source publication date:
European Aquatics launched its level one open water officiating clinic through the academy’s online platform. The course remains available throughout 2026 and targets officials with national or limited experience, particularly those from federations hosting European events who seek technical appointments.
Applicants must be eighteen to sixty-five, have national-level experience and demonstrate fluent English. A multiple-choice assessment concludes the training, with successful candidates eligible for timekeeper, finish judge, turn judge or assistant duties at events hosted by their own federation.
Certification lasts one calendar year and the participation fee is fifty euros. The programme creates an introductory stage in the federation’s wider open water education pathway, giving member organisations a structured way to expand the pool of officials supporting national and international competition.
