The FIDE Commission for Women’s Chess invited federations, clubs and event organisers to join a global programme celebrating women and girls throughout March. The initiative returns after its first worldwide edition and uses a theme centred on visibility and connections across communities.

Eligible activities include tournaments, simultaneous exhibitions, lectures, workshops and other chess gatherings. Organisers can submit information to the commission and connect their local activity to the wider programme, allowing different formats and playing communities to participate in the same annual celebration.

The commission said the purpose is to highlight projects already taking place, strengthen contacts between organisers and encourage participation by women and girls. It provided a contact address and social-media channels for contributions. The February announcement opens the coordination period ahead of March’s activities.
