FIH names four Poligras skill award winners from World Cup qualifiers
Players from Uruguay, Chile, Pakistan and Ireland were recognised for standout moments.
Source publication date:
FIH announced four winners of the Poligras Magic Skill Award following the World Cup qualifying tournaments in Egypt, Chile and India. The awards highlighted individual actions across the qualification programme, recognising players from four national teams and three continents.
Uruguay's Teresa Viana received recognition for a goal-line clearance, while Chile's Maria Maldonado was selected for a skilful finish. Pakistan's Afraz earned an award for his finishing, and Ireland's Benjamin Walker was honoured for a powerful volley.
The award programme celebrates inventive hockey skills and memorable performances rather than tournament standings alone. FIH linked the selections to the Poligras surface brand's involvement in international hockey, with the qualifying events providing the setting for the four recognised moments.
