Fiji and France lead Singapore men’s sevens pools
Fiji’s extra-time win confirms the four teams advancing to the semi-finals.

Fiji topped its pool at HSBC SVNS Singapore with a 24–19 extra-time victory over South Africa. Nacani Boginisoko scored the winner after Terio Veilawa had crossed twice, completing an unbeaten first day for the defending Singapore champions.
Earlier wins against Great Britain and Spain gave Fiji three victories from three games. South Africa also qualified after defeating both European opponents. The results set up semi-finals pairing Fiji with New Zealand and South Africa with France.
France won all three games in the other pool, beating New Zealand 19–12, Australia 31–7 and Argentina 19–15. New Zealand recovered from its opening defeat with wins over Argentina and Australia, securing the other place in the last four at the National Stadium.
