FIS clean sport interview explains testing safeguards
Wallace-Jones discussed athlete responsibilities before the federation’s Play True Day campaign.
Source publication date:
FIS anti-doping manager Vanda Wallace-Jones explained testing procedures in an interview ahead of Play True Day on 17 April. The federation encouraged athletes and staff to join a thirty-second movement challenge while using the campaign to highlight practical clean sport responsibilities and safeguards.
Wallace-Jones described testing in competition, at camps and at home by organisations with jurisdiction. She emphasised checking medicines and supplements through appropriate team or national contacts, and noted that doping control officers must show identification and accreditation when notifying athletes outside competition.
Athletes choose from available sample kits, check equipment and split samples into A and B containers. Laboratories use identifying codes rather than athlete names, while concerns about procedures can be recorded on the control form and raised directly with FIS.
