A FISU delegation visited Chungcheong from 18 to 22 March to review preparations for the 2027 World University Games. Chief sports officer Shen Zhen led the five-day coordination visit, meeting organisers about detailed operational plans.

The delegation inspected the Sejong Games Village construction site and nine major new or renovated venues. Shen reported that village construction was progressing ahead of schedule and praised the organising committee’s commitment to delivering the event.

The Games are planned for 1–12 August 2027 across four areas of the Chungcheong region. Organisers expect approximately 15,000 participants from more than 150 countries competing in eighteen sports. Committee president Kang Chang-hee welcomed the visiting officials, while vice-president Lee Chang-seop said their feedback would guide continued preparations.
