Australia beat China PR 2-1 in Perth to reach the Women’s Asian Cup final. Goals from Caitlin Foord and Sam Kerr defeated the defending champions, sending the hosts to a title match in Sydney against either Japan or Korea Republic.

Foord opened the scoring after a move involving Mary Fowler and Ellie Carpenter. China PR answered when Zhang Linyan won a penalty following a defensive error and converted it herself, leaving the sides level at the interval.

Foord supplied a through pass that released Kerr after the restart, and the forward finished from a difficult angle to restore Australia’s lead. China PR introduced additional attacking players but could not break through, while Australia maintained their advantage to claim another appearance in the continental final.
