Source publication date:
Tommaso Giacomel followed his Oberhof sprint victory by winning the men’s 12.5km pursuit in 37:15.4. The Italian recovered from a 56-second deficit after the first standing stage, despite recording six penalties overall.
Martin Uldal led before the final shoot but missed three targets there. Giacomel hit all five, took control and finished 4.5 seconds ahead of the Norwegian. Sebastian Samuelsson mounted a late charge for third, 8.8 seconds behind the winner.
Giacomel also moved into the overall World Cup lead, becoming the first Italian man to wear the yellow bib in 34 years. Strong, changeable winds shaped the competition: the field accumulated 238 penalties across the four shooting stages.
