Gonzalez and Fernandez lead Wadi Silver contenders
The Spanish pair entered Egypt after a title and a final in their first two events.

Jose Luis Gonzalez and Antonio Fernandez headed the men’s field at the FIP Silver Wadi Padel Tournament in Egypt. The Spanish pair approached their third event of 2026 after winning in Mallorca and reaching the final in Bahrain earlier in the season.
Victor Mena was another leading contender, partnering Marcos Gonzalez following a semifinal appearance at the Bronze event in Doha. Gonzalez was starting his own 2026 campaign, with the Egyptian tournament scheduled to run through Saturday.
Alejandro Calvo and Nicolas Suescun were among the seeded teams, together with French internationals Johan Bergeron and Timeo Fonteny. The men’s Silver competition was staged alongside a women’s Bronze event at the Wadi tournament.
