Győr secured direct entry into the women’s Champions League quarter-finals, while Debrecen earned a play-off place during round twelve. The results clarified part of group A’s qualification picture with two further rounds remaining in the scheduled group phase.
Debrecen defeated Dortmund after building a nine-goal half-time lead. Dortmund’s improved defence reduced the gap to three with ten minutes remaining, but a decisive three-goal home run protected the advantage and ensured the Hungarian club collected the required points.
Esbjerg won away at Storhamar, with Henny Reistad scoring fifteen goals and Anniken Obaidli replying with fourteen for the hosts. Esbjerg’s seven-goal victory was their fourth successive win and continued a run of five victories in six matches as Danish clubs claimed away success.
