Hansen ends nine-year wait for Nimes compound title
A one-arrow shoot-off settled the final against Mike Schloesser.
Source publication date:
Stephan Hansen won compound men’s gold at the Nimes Archery Tournament, stage five of the Indoor World Series. He defeated Mike Schloesser in a one-arrow shoot-off for his first Nimes title since 2017.
Hansen entered eliminations as the twenty-fourth qualifier. He survived a shoot-off against Lorenzo Gubbini and beat Marco Bruno 149–147 before recording consecutive 150–149 victories over Robin Jaatma and Nico Wiener in the quarter-final and semi-final.
The victory reversed the frustration of his November Luxembourg final, where Kushal Dulal had defeated him in a shoot-off. USA Archery also reported fifth place for Sawyer Sullivan and Nicholas D’Amour in their respective compound and recurve men’s competitions.
