Hughes double lifts Bula past Tahiti United
Two second-half goals kept the Fijian club in the top-four race.
Source publication date:
Setareki Hughes scored twice as Bula defeated Tahiti United 2-0 at the National Stadium in Honiara. The substitute supplied both goals after half-time, giving the Fijian side three valuable points in the increasingly competitive OFC Pro League standings.
Tahiti created several first-half chances through Teaonui Tehau, who had a goal disallowed for handball and also struck the woodwork. Roy Krishna hit the crossbar for Bula, leaving both teams without a breakthrough at the interval.
Hughes’s introduction proved decisive as he converted two chances to move the game beyond Tahiti. The result restored Bula’s momentum and supported their pursuit of a place among the leading four clubs before the league’s next round in Fiji.
