Larissa Iapichino won the long jump at Ancona’s Memorial Alessio Giovannini with 6.93 metres on her first attempt. The mark led the early world list and exceeded the 6.75-metre World Indoor Championships qualifying standard.

She followed with 6.74 and 6.57 around a passed attempt before foregoing her last two jumps as a precaution. Magdalena Bokun finished second with 6.30 and Arianna Battistella third with 6.28.

Matteo Berardo also set an Italian under-18 indoor 200-metre best of 21.51, improving Diego Nappi’s mark by one hundredth. This was a new distance-specific record after Berardo’s separate 60-metre performance the previous weekend.
