The ICC confirmed the Super Eight groups after Pakistan defeated Namibia to secure the final qualifying place at the men’s T20 World Cup. Pakistan’s first match in the next stage was set against New Zealand in Colombo, while India would face South Africa.

Group One contains India, Zimbabwe, West Indies and South Africa. Group Two comprises Pakistan, Sri Lanka, England and New Zealand. Each team plays its three group opponents, with the leading two sides from each section advancing to the knockout semifinals.

The second stage resets the standings: points, wins and net run rate from the opening groups do not carry forward. The confirmed schedule therefore begins a new qualification contest for all eight teams, including the repeat of the India–South Africa final from 2024.
