The ICC announced expanded language coverage for the men’s T20 World Cup, including Hindi, Urdu, Sinhala and Nepali commentary. The arrangements covered national broadcast partners and ICC.tv, supplementing English feeds across markets during the India and Sri Lanka tournament.
An Urdu feed was planned for Pakistan matches, while Kantipur TV would offer selected games in Nepali. Dialog Television and Dialog Play, through ThePapare, were to provide Sinhala commentary for every match, the first such complete ICC men’s T20 World Cup coverage in Sri Lanka.
Hindi commentary would also reach viewers in Australia, New Zealand, Britain, Ireland and North America through local partners. ICC.tv’s coverage in more than eighty territories included Hindi for all matches, Urdu for Pakistan fixtures and Nepali for Nepal fixtures, expanding the available choices for supporters.
