The IJF outlined a busy competition year in which qualification for Los Angeles 2028 would begin at June’s Ulaanbaatar Grand Slam. The senior tour opens in Paris on 7 and 8 February before continuing through Tashkent and a series of spring events.

The calendar also introduces Lausanne to the World Judo Tour in August. Baku is scheduled to host the individual and mixed team world championships from 4 to 11 October, followed by further major events in Abu Dhabi, Zagreb and Tokyo.

The season extends beyond the senior circuit. Amman will stage the junior worlds, Sarajevo will host veteran and kata championships, and young judoka will target the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar as international competition spans multiple age groups.
