Source publication date:
Moa Ilar won the women’s 10km classic interval start in Oberhof in 24:37.0, beating Teresa Stadlober by 0.7 seconds. Jonna Sundling completed the podium, 20.8 seconds behind her Swedish teammate, a day after winning the freestyle sprint.
Ilar’s third individual World Cup victory was her first of the season. Stadlober made a strong late challenge, cutting a seventeen-second deficit after 7.6km to less than a second at the finish. Norway’s Karoline Groetting placed fifth in only her second World Cup race.
The result narrowed Ilar’s deficit to overall leader Jessie Diggins to 149 points. Stadlober said the race would be her last before the Olympics, with training taking priority over the next World Cup weekend in Goms.
