Ireland earned its first win of the men’s T20 World Cup by beating Oman by ninety-six runs in Colombo. Stand-in captain Lorcan Tucker made an unbeaten 94 from 51 deliveries, while Gareth Delany added 56 and George Dockrell finished with 35 from nine balls.

England overcame the loss of both openers in the first two overs to defeat Scotland by five wickets in Kolkata. Tom Banton’s unbeaten 63 from 41 balls guided the chase, supported by Jacob Bethell’s 32 and Sam Curran’s brisk contribution of twenty-eight.

South Africa maintained its unbeaten record by beating New Zealand in Ahmedabad. Captain Aiden Markram led the chase with an unbeaten 86 from 44 deliveries, keeping the team at the top of Group D as the first-round qualification contest continued across the tournament.
