Irish college rugby cups launch with forty-three teams
Six third-level cup competitions will conclude with finals in Carlow.

Student Sport Ireland and the IRFU launched their 2026 third-level rugby cups at Aviva Stadium. Forty-three college and university teams will take part across six competitions, with players, coaches and institutional representatives attending the launch and draws.
This is the tenth year of the men’s cups and the eighth year of the women’s competition. Action begins on February 11, with finals scheduled for March 25 at South East Technological University Carlow, which will again host the deciding matches.
The premier men’s opening round includes Garda College against University College Cork and SETU Carlow against TU Dublin. Seven teams enter the Women’s Tier 1 Cup, divided into two groups, providing the competition’s initial structure before the later knockout and final stages.
