Irish teams and Poland secure Santiago qualifier semi-final places

Ireland's men's and women's teams secured semi-final places at the Santiago World Cup qualifier, alongside Poland's men. Ireland's men defeated Korea 6–1, while its women beat Japan 2–1 in the day's combined tournament programme.
Poland edged Canada 2–1 through goals from Gracjan Jarzyński and Tomasz Bembenek, holding on despite a late Canadian reply. In the other men's pool, France beat Wales 5–0, while Chile and Scotland drew, leaving those semi-final places unresolved.
Malaysia's women defeated Canada 6–1 to maintain their qualification challenge, with Nur Azhar scoring twice. Ireland's women used two second quarter penalty corner goals to establish their lead over Japan. The results left Japan and Malaysia preparing for a decisive final pool meeting.
