ITTF and Kazakhstan strengthen cooperation ahead of Astana 2027
A university opening and cooperation agreements connected championship planning with sport education.

The ITTF and the Kazakhstan Table Tennis Federation advanced preparations for the 2027 World Championships during a July visit to Astana. ITTF president Petra Sörling and event director Bart Vermoesen attended the opening of the Kazakh National University of Sport.
The visit linked event organisation with the education of coaches, sport scientists and sports managers. A host agreement was signed with the national federation on 3 July, followed by a development memorandum with NOMAD Table Tennis Academy on 4 July.
The agreements represent a planning and development stage. They do not establish championship results or prove that all preparation work has been completed. The institutional cooperation is the verified 2026 development covered in this archive.
