Sweden’s most-capped international Jamina Roberts reflected on the mental and tactical development behind her long career in a new EHF interview. The thirty-five-year-old Ikast player described how an initially limited national-team role gradually developed into greater responsibility and influence on the court.

Years spent waiting for opportunities brought frustration but also taught her to appreciate playing time and understand different tasks within a team. Roberts later won the 2023 Champions League title with Vipers and contributed to Sweden’s European medals in 2010 and 2014.

Her attacking approach increasingly focuses on creating pressure that opens opportunities for shooters and wing players. She said players need to understand their importance to those around them, connecting personal decisions with the shared responsibility of building attacks rather than seeking to finish every action themselves.
