The top three teams finished within three seconds in a record-close race.
Source publication date:
Norway won the women’s 4x6km relay in Ruhpolding in 1:07:06.2, taking the lead only when Maren Kirkeeide passed Lisa Vittozzi in the final fifty metres. Kirkeeide raced with Karoline Offigstad Knotten, Juni Arnekleiv and Marthe Krakstad Johansen.
Italy finished second, just 0.9 seconds behind, while Sweden was third at three seconds. The IBU identified the three-team spread as the closest women’s relay finish in World Cup history, surpassing a 4.5-second margin from Ruhpolding in 2017.
Norway used nine spare rounds in its first women’s relay victory of the season. France finished fourth after losing contact on the last loop; Czechia and Germany followed. Nine lead changes reflected a race in which no team maintained control throughout.
