Klaebo wins a record fifth Tour de Ski title
Norway swept the overall podium after the final climb in Val di Fiemme.
Source publication date:
Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo became the first skier to win five Tour de Ski titles, finishing thirty seconds ahead of Mattis Stenshagen overall. Harald Oestberg Amundsen completed a Norwegian podium sweep, 1:08.2 behind the champion.
Stenshagen won the concluding 10km freestyle mass start up Alpe Cermis. Klaebo finished twelfth in that stage, managing his overall advantage as the course steepened. He had led the Tour from its opening day and won three of the six stages.
The victory moved Klaebo beyond Dario Cologna’s four-title record and also brought the Tour sprint prize. He earned three hundred additional World Cup points, extending his overall standings advantage over Amundsen to 246 before turning his preparation toward the Olympics.
