Knibb targets greater barebow visibility ahead of European indoors
The British champion secured support for her Plovdiv trip and described ambitions beyond national selection.
Source publication date:
Illaria Knibb outlined her ambition to raise barebow’s profile before representing Great Britain at the European Indoor Archery Championships. The 24-year-old British indoor champion had secured her trip to Plovdiv through personal fundraising, including support shared by her employer, Network Rail.
Knibb took up barebow while studying at the University of Bristol after finding the recurve sight difficult to use. She finished second at the Kings of Archery Series and won the British indoor title in December, strengthening her confidence before international competition.
She said archery and its community had provided stability during difficult university years. Discussions with coach Duncan Riding helped turn an initial national tour target into a wider goal of becoming an ambassador for the discipline.
