LA28 archery qualification pathway introduces compound mixed teams
The published system allocates places for 128 archers across six Olympic medal events.
Source publication date:
The International Olympic Committee released archery’s qualification system for Los Angeles 2028, establishing compound archers’ first pathway to the Games. A total of 128 athletes, equally divided between men and women, will compete across six medal events, including compound mixed teams.
Twelve compound mixed teams will qualify. Recurve team fields will contain eight teams per gender, reduced from 12 in Paris, while individual recurve quota places remain at 28 per gender. The system allocates 116 places through qualification, eight to the host country and four through universality invitations.
Places belong to National Olympic Committees rather than individual athletes. World championships, continental competitions, final qualification events and compound mixed team rankings form the principal routes, with minimum qualifying scores also required.
