The 2026 Leagues Cup schedule introduced matches in Mexico for the first time in the tournament’s fourth edition. The competition was scheduled from 4 August to 6 September, bringing together all 18 Liga MX clubs and 18 qualified MLS teams.

Three clubs would earn places in the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup, with the winner advancing directly to its round of 16. The field included defending Leagues Cup champions Seattle Sounders, Mexican champions Toluca and MLS Cup winners Inter Miami.

Phase One would divide the participants between eastern and western regions, using rankings and three tiers to organise fixtures. Interleague meetings were guaranteed through the quarterfinals; the top four teams from each league would reach that stage before September’s semifinals, final and third-place match.
