Li Qingtong double confirms China PR’s quarter-final place

China PR qualified for the Women’s Asian Cup quarter-finals with a 3-0 win against Uzbekistan. The defending champions made nine changes to their starting team but still collected a second victory, also confirming DPR Korea’s place in the knockout stage.

Uzbekistan initially defended effectively in a compact formation, allowing only limited opportunities. Shao Ziqin broke the deadlock from the penalty spot after being pulled back in the area, then had a further chance saved before half-time.

Li Qingtong added two goals during the second half, first finishing into an open net after Li Mengwen won possession and later heading in Zhang Xin’s delivery. China PR and DPR Korea would meet next to settle the order at the top of Group B.
