Linz and Cagliari win away Europe Cup openers
Both women’s clubs established quarterfinal leads before hosting the second encounters.

Linz AG Froschberg and Quattro Mori Cagliari took away advantages in the women’s Europe Cup quarterfinals. Linz defeated Son Cladera Mallorca 3–1, while Cagliari swept Fenerbahce 3–0, leaving both clubs well positioned ahead of home return matches scheduled for Saturday.
Suthasini Sawettabut and Britt Eerland gave Linz its opening two points. Eugenia Sastre responded for Mallorca against Ivana Malobabic, but Eerland returned to beat Pauline Chasselin in five games and secure the Austrian club’s team victory.
Cagliari’s encounter in Turkey finished after three matches. Ma Hengyu defeated Sibel Altinkaya in four games, Elizabet Abraamian beat Ece Harac in straight games and Miriam Carnovale completed the sweep against Gul Pembe Ozkaya.
