Liverpool reached the FA Cup fourth round with a 4-1 win over Barnsley at Anfield. Dominik Szoboszlai’s long-range strike and Jeremie Frimpong’s finish put the hosts two goals ahead in the first half.

Barnsley’s Adam Phillips reduced the deficit after capitalising on Szoboszlai’s misplaced pass inside Liverpool’s penalty area. The League One visitors had earlier threatened when Davis Keillor-Dunn headed against a post.

Arne Slot introduced Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike from the bench, and the pair combined for late goals. Wirtz scored six minutes from the end before Ekitike added a stoppage-time fourth. Liverpool’s next-round reward was a home meeting with Brighton & Hove Albion.
