Liverpool recovered from conceding first to beat Newcastle United 4-1 at Anfield. Hugo Ekitike scored in the 41st and 43rd minutes, overturning Anthony Gordon’s 36th-minute opener before the interval.
Florian Wirtz supplied Ekitike’s first goal and later finished a Mohamed Salah pass to extend the lead. Ibrahima Konate marked his return to the starting side with a fourth goal in stoppage time.
