Liverpool defeated Qarabag 6-0 at Anfield to qualify directly for the Champions League round of 16. Alexis Mac Allister scored twice, with Florian Wirtz, Mohamed Salah, Hugo Ekitike and Federico Chiesa completing the scoring.

Mac Allister’s header opened the scoring in the 15th minute before Wirtz doubled the advantage. Liverpool had already lost Jeremie Frimpong to an early injury, with Wataru Endo replacing him at right-back.

Salah converted a second-half free-kick, Ekitike capitalised on a defensive mistake, and Mac Allister and Chiesa added further goals. The victory secured third place in the league phase, allowing Arne Slot’s side to bypass the February knockout play-offs.
