Ludogorets defeated Ferencváros 2–1 in Razgrad in the first leg of their Europa League knockout playoff. The Bulgarian side retained a narrow advantage despite Ferencváros equalising quickly after conceding the opening goal.

The hosts went ahead in the 24th minute, and Yusuf replied three minutes later. Ferencváros created additional opportunities before halftime, but the home team regained the lead midway through the second half through an individual attacking move.

Ludogorets then protected their advantage through a hard-fought finish. This was the clubs' fourth meeting of the season following earlier Champions League qualifying and Europa League encounters. The return match was set for the following week at Budapest's Groupama Arena.
